Just a few of the many sights that surround me here in the Frederic/Washington D.C. area. We have a lovely tradition here in Frederick that all the Churches downtown will have an open-house the day after Christmas. It is a wonderful time to see the interior of these beautiful churches in my community and share in the music and festivities with my neighbors. I hope these pictures encourage you in some way to see the energy of Christmas all around you. I also ask for your thoughts and prayers as I am playing a recital tonight at the Basilica of Elizabeth Ann Seton in Emmitsburg with my lovely little flute quartet. “Come and See” December 20th at 7:00 p.m. The Wedgewood Flute Quartet David Styer, Paulela Burchill, Jennifer Rundlett and Katie Cole As our prayer this week let us sing: Go tell is on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere. Go tell is on the mountain that Jesus Christ was born! Merry Christmas Everyone!

So much to do around town that is free. Reminds me somewhat of my childhood. Christmas was centered around things that were free. There was the big night at the old school house. Everyone gathered and the children put on the celebration. We sang, we had readings, we had dancing, we had a play, and the program always ended with the Nativity scene. The curtain would go down, and Santa would arrive and sacks of goodies would be given to everyone present. We would truly go home with sugarplums dancing in our heads, that was called a country CHRISTMAS.
