Just a quick hello to say I have completed the first draft of my new book and am hoping to be able to publish The Joyful Sound: Reflections of the Life of Christ in Art and Music sometime late spring early summer.  Stay tuned to God thru the Arts as there will be new things announced in the coming weeks.
I discovered this painting by French artist William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905) yesterday as I was browsing through his works. He has painted some 826 paintings two of which will be featured in my new book. As I am currently wrapped indoors beneath a blanket of snow…exact snowfall inches yet to be determined but I am safe to say over 2 feet is laying outside my window.
Bouguereau was widely popular during his day and accepted by the traditional academic salon painters while hated by the more avant-garde painters of his day. He painted Bible and Classical themes and with this work he touches our heart with quiet perfection.

A Study in White

Purity: A heart that always sings

“Jesus Loves Me This I Know!”

Innocents: a love for God that never doubts and always hopes…

Peace: “It is Well with My Soul”

Soft: God’s voice is in the still small whisper

Silence: “Be still and know that I am God”

Enjoy your Sunday!

Stay safe and warm and peace be with you!
