Eastertide: A Season of Celebration

Eastertide: A season of celebration

A period of several weeks after Easter Sunday, when Christians focus on Christ’s victory over sin and death.

A season of joy and singing; gratitude for our blessedness; and dancing, because we know that we have arrived at the celebration of the bridegroom’s coming to the wedding feast.

And yet, maybe deep down we find this feeling elusive…

Sure we love the celebration of the story of Jesus’ resurrection–his victory…

We love the flowers and the trumpets–the sunrise services and the honey baked hams, but after it is over–are we changed?

Do we lay down all of our cares?

Or do we dutifully step back into the bondage of everyday life that soon causes us to walk all bent over as we struggle under a heavy burden?

Since our time of quiet reflection of Lent is over, we have modulated towards a new season of triumph!

Let the glory of the Lord rise up in our lives. Feel his glory spark newness in your heart and let your awareness of him travel down to your toes. His suffering has ended… waiting is over.

Christ is Risen!! Christ is Risen Indeed!!!

And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you. ~ Romans 8:11

Dear Lord, help us to walk with a new lightness in our step because we have experienced the Resurrection. Let our hearts not be troubled by any rumors of things to come. Help us to remember that you are a mighty God who is always on our side! And we know that nothing can be against us!!

I love the heart of this man. I truly believe that there are seeds of greatness that God plants in each of us and each of our fellowships. I hope you will watch as the Spirit of the Lord slowly rises among our brothers and sisters in Christ. Hallelujah!! Let is Rise!!
