GTA Advent Journey, Day 16: The Lamb

GTA Advent Journey

Day 16: The Lamb

“How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. …Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.” Psalms 84: 1-2,5

Today’s music video features music by British composer John Tavener. Listen for how he expertly crafts a melody that captures the dream like quality of this 1789 poem by William Blake.

The melody begins with just the women as they ask a question…the question is haunting and it is dissonant.

Little Lamb, who made thee? Does thou know who made thee?”

Listen then as he gives depth and warmth to the voices as they give the answer. He reveals the meaning of life in this very simply presentation that glows inside our hearts.

“For He calls Himself the Lamb. He is meek, and He is mild, He became a little child.”

“I a child, and thou a lamb, we are called by His name.”

Let the warmth of these harmonies take your heart on a journey.

May the realization of this fill your dreams and bless your day:)

God’s grace and peace be with you…
